The sky fractured and split open/ there, that day/ in the tendered loin of that city/ mangled, beaten/ still standing/ I turned, amid the thrashing of your back to my face.
Your lashes batting down all you wanted to say instead. There in that moment, I loved you more, more than the before. All that was… burning clouds and hissing stars.
